When implementing the Promoting Smoke Free Policies in Multi Unit Housing invervention, what have others found effective for educating potential partners (such as property owners)?

We found lunch and learns very effective and we also found it was very important to share the dangers of 2nd and 3rd hand smoke exposure. We also shared the cost savings of going smoke-free and details about how to legally implement, gets support from residents, and enforce the policy once in place. Attendees most liked the peer-to-peer sharing, so we suggest having others who have gone smoke-free talk about the process they went through and the benefits they’ve realized.

Thanks! How did you get the food for the lunch and learn? Were you allowed to use grant dollars?

We were able to get the food donated from our local housing coalition or other partners (such as healthcare partners). Sometimes we made dishes for the lunch n learns.
